I purchased SoftRAID 5.1.1 for Thunderbay from OWC. I read where there was a new version 5.5 of SoftRAID available. I checked through the application and it said that 5.5 was available. I downloaded it and when through all the steps. The installation package finally told me that I had an invalid license number. When I opened 5.1.1 again I was told I had installed a newer driver than the one associated with version 5.1.1.
Please help me downgrade back to 5.1.1
Thank you.
William
I am unsure what happened, your message is somewhat confusing. Can you send a SoftRAID Technical Support file to support@softraid.com and we will get back to you with the solution for this?
i am sure it is very simple, once we understand exactly what you have.
I had a very similar problem today. Out of nowhere I get a popup screen on my Mac Mini server that tells me there is a new version of SoftRAID available. Low and behold I run through the process only to find out that this is not an update but a full blown version of SoftRAID pushed onto my machine with an entirely new driver. Upon trying to uninstall and go back to my SoftRAID Lite version I'm warned that my machine will no longer boot without the updated driver. Holy crap this is just NO GOOD for customers.....IN ANY WAY!! Not a happy camper about this. I don't care if it can be fixed or not, this is not good business practice. An email would have been sufficient to notify customers of a new version.
This appears to be a bug, which we will investigate. SoftRAID Lite should only notify you of SoftRAID Lite updates. The fix is simple, run the latest/current version of SoftRAID Lite and reinstall the driver.
