If you have Two Factor Authentication enabled (for signing into iCloud anything, including Apple ID) — and have problems using icloud email accounts with SoftRAID, here is some advice.
Sign into appleid.apple.com , and after using Two Factor Authentication, find the panel on the page for “App-Specific Passwords,” and click “Generate Password” It will ask you to name the App you are referencing - for your own reference, then it generates a secure password. Copy and paste that into the password box in the SoftRAID email notification panel (instead of your standard email password).
This is a big help. The answer should be in the FAQ for setting up email and not just in the discussion forum.
Excellent point. It will be for SoftRAID 6, but 5.8/5.8.1 did not get updated documentation because of localization.
