I recently got a new iMac, and am transferring my 8-drive RAID array to the new system.
Is it possible to de-authorize my SoftRAID Lite install on the old system, and authorize it on the new Mac without buying a new license? (Not that you guys don’t deserve it… but I’m on a tight budget. :)

Yes, it is easy.
Use "Uninstall SoftRAID" from the Utilities menu and restart.
That frees up your license for your new computer.

How do I retrieve the license for the new computer? Cannot find the DVD I bought from OWC.

I can't help with that, you may need to contact OWC and hope they have it.
If you can run the old computer, we can get it for you, but we don't know your license number unless you purchase direct from SoftRAID.

Ok I have the boot drive of the old computer running as an external drive. Can I read the plist files to get the license info?

Hello -
I am upgrading to a new computer setup, and have an existing SoftRAID Lite 4 disk RAID, which is now with the new computer. I used the utility menu to uninstall SoftRAID Lite from the old computer, and now am trying to enter my license on the new computer - but it still says the license is on the old computer.
What should I do next?

Easy.
There are two ways to resolve this:
A) leave the SoftRAID license on the machine, and just restart it to release the license. This is for when you want to keep the computer and occasionally connect your thunderbay to it.
B) Uninstall SoftRAID, utilities menu, then restart.
