If you split the raid across the two enclosures wouldn't that give you a speed boost you need? Since you'd be utilizing multiple thunderbolt interface...
Note to self, don't upgrade to Catalina on release.
If you can afford it, its worth it to upgrade the software to suit your raid needs.
