Attached is from b2 that works, b5 does not.
I tried to run the beta 5 but gut the same old error.
I asked the question because Western Digital got slammed for not labeling drives if they were SMR or CMR drives
Do you think he may be using Shingled magnetic recording (SMR) drives? Not not for NAS.
I have up upgraded to Sonoma and it's working. Both show 7.6.1.b2 driver 7.6.
Well it's now working ok.
To add I'm on a 2019 Mac Pro. Thunder bey 4, with 4 Iron wolf 8TB Raid 5 drives.

I tried that with Sonoma, but no lock. It did install OK on my M1 Mac Book.
The same part of the "Application" failed error. try restarting. Also note that on my M1 MacBook Pro MAX it installs just fine.
