No, I do not know why yet.

Please run 7.6 again, and then create a SoftRAID tech support file, via terminal. Paste this line in, you will need your admin password:
sudo softraidtool generatereport ~/Desktop/John.Graham.9.14.23.sr_supt

Next, run the console.app. (Applications/Utilities folder)
See if you can find a error file, or diagnostic report mentioning SoftRAID in the title at the time you just ran SoftRAID and it failed. Depending on your version of Console, there will be an errors tab, or there may be "diagnostic report" folders. Just browse and see what you can find, with the right timestamp. Save that and attach it (It will have to be saved as a text file (with Text Edit, use "Make plain text"), with the support file.

This is all I got.

jgrah1@Johns-Mac-Pro ~ % sudo softraidtool generatereport ~/Desktop/John.Graham.9.14.23.sr_supt
Assertion failed: (range.location + range.length <= dataLength), function __CFDataValidateRange, file CFData.c, line 235.
zsh: abort sudo softraidtool generatereport ~/Desktop/John.Graham.9.14.23.sr_supt

@john-graham

Looks like the SoftRAID tool is not relaunching. We will need to send you a debug version, we will work on that.

Until then I'm back on 7.5.

I have exactly the same issue as John.  FYI 7.5 has always run fine and I am back on that.  I am on MacOS 13.5.2 on a MacPro 2019.  I tried several days apart thinking the download may have been corrupted, but the same both times.

Should have added that, for me, I did not see any initiation of the 7.6 driver installation when I launched v7.6.  Normally the driver installs and you have to restart the machine and the upgraded version then works after restart.  Not this time: trying to run v7.6 with the v7.5 could be a problem?

@slippery

the 7.5 driver will always load with Ventura, that is not a problem.

We are investigating this issue, we have sent a debug version to several users to help us figure out the cause, so we can release a fix, probably 7.6.1. We never saw this in testing, so it has to be something in users' systems.

thanks!

I just installed Sonoma and while Softraid Volumes seem to work correctly, trying to access the Softraid app first brings up a Permissions dialog to load a helper app, which then fails.

@bob_stan

I need more information. Are you getting a notice that the Monitor failed? Or Application failed? Can you attach a SoftRAID tech support file? If not, maybe create one using terminal.app? Paste this in to give it a try:
sudo softraidtool generatereport ~/Desktop/Bob.Stan.9.26.23.sr_supt

This should create a file on the desktop. and give me the headline of the error message you are seeing (I do not need a screen shot, just what is the actual error)

thanks

I am getting the exact same errors as shown in the post by John Graham.  The same error when trying your terminal command. Unfortunately I can't revert to 7.5 because I have installed Sonoma.

@softraid-support Just to add, I get the same thing on fresh boot drive with Sonoma. The driver shows 7.6 but the app quits. Softraidtool does not work here to.
