SoftRAID 8.6 has an issue where when upgrading, or restarting, SoftRAID is not correctly reading the license information and SoftRAID is put in Premium trial mode.
All features are available and functioning. There is no risk to your data or volumes. All other functions are 100% active.
You can re-enter your license number to reinstate Premium mode, or ignore this (use SoftRAID in trial mode) for now.
An update, SoftRAID 8.6.1 is being tested and should be released very soon.
We have released SoftRAID 8.6.1, which addresses this issue.
Note: you may have to enter your license number one more time, but if your status was premium when you launch 8.6.1, it will retain your license and "premium" mode.
As indicated above, this was just an issue with some changed text strings, not in the driver or any critical component. Very low impact change for 8.6.1.
I upgraded the beta to 8.6.1 (via the 'check for updates' menu) and it has installed a Premium Trial. Once the trial period has expired will it automatically revert to the free version if I do not wish to use a license?
Effectively yes. At that time, just "buy" a free Standard version.
