@softraid-support Hello, I purchased a upgrade & support renewal today August 16th, I deactivated and activated my soft raid but it says my plan will deactivate on Aug 1 2024, should it be Aug 16 2024? Thanks

@rjwinks

I think it went by the last expiration date. Let me find and update this. Then you can deactivate/activate to see this.

I searched for a thread pertaining to my question instead of starting a new thread but am still not entirely clear on what to plan for. Here's the question:

I purchased a ThunderBay Flex 8 in 2021 that came with a 3-year support plan for SoftRaid. That worked out great since I was able to upgrade to the latest version without additional cost. However....

My plan WILL expire on April 20th of next year.

Based on what I am reading, I am unclear on if the "Support & Upgrade Plan" is the same cost as a new first-time user purchase, or if there is a discounted rate (i.e. Avid's Pro Tools support plan renewal that everyone in the world complains about but I keep paying every year for a perpetual PT license without complaining). I get that it takes money to support software and don't agree with some of the customer kickback I see in some of the threads about this, but my basic question is as simple as "What do I budget for in another 6 months or so?" If it's the same rate as a first-time user then that's a little more difficult for me to understand but there's a lot I don't understand and I don't like jerks from any which side. From the website and threads I can't tell for sure but my question/concern is if there is any existing customer pricing provided for renewals. And if so.....can a renewal be purchased sooner than the expiration date? If someone told me "It's $____ and you can purchase a renewal license here at any time" (i.e. Avid) I'd probably go do it right now (early) just to get it over with.

Question 2: Do new enclosures still come with a 3-year plan???? For a year I keep threatening to buy a second Flex 8 but haven't yet been ready to spend the money on another large enclosure.

@guitarflex

Yes you can "pre-buy" renewals, it will add a year. Cost for XT is $79.

Yes a Flex 8, which is our premium enclsoure, it comes with a 3 year license and support. So you could move to that license and get three additional years.

Most 0GB enclosures come with 1 year of SoftRAID.

All enclosures with drives (except really small capacity drives) have 3 years warranty, support and upgrades.

Obviously it costs more, but what is the renewal on Pro? It may come as a surprise but I'm on Pro (though XT would probably still work good enough). Is there a webpage/link I can go to see the renewal prices for each option?

I had a similar experience today, and asked about it in another thread..

I have a Thunderbay 8 (purchased last year), support plan expired this past July.  I renewed the support plan today expecting it to expire a year from today, but is showing that it will expire in July.

Is this the way it's supposed to work?

@dmetz

If so, it is a bug. Post your license number (I will delete it) and lets see what happened.
