Had to change User accounts on this computer and after a reinstall (Clears and Install new User, migrating old docs, settings, no joy. I am getting ready to reinstall on a new computer so wonder what to do next. I suppose I'll simply wait for the computer and migrate my system as is and then do whatever you say, please confirm. Also would like to install Beta version for compatibility but not necessary if this interferes. Your advice? Sorry to pile multiple questions/ situations.
Macbook Pro 16" Retina XDR, 2024 M4 Pro internal 2TB storage, 36GB RAM, MacOS 15.6.1 Sequoia, running v8.0 SoftRAID software; Local RAID drives/enclosures: 4M2 OWC Enclosure with 6TB NMe, RAID4 Storage; two external OWC T3 enclosures (2.5TB online storage) populated with JBOD 6x500GB, EVO SSD, RAID 4 array disks/partitions; Local Backup: 2TB.
On the same computer, nothing to do except run SoftRAID and activate. You can activate on all systems on the computer.
If you run the beta in a separate volume, that is fine also, it won't interfere with the other installs. I routinely have computers with 4-5 systems, each can use the same, or different licenses, be different MacOS versions, different SoftRAID versions etc.
We also support any number of users in the same System on one license. No issues there.

@SoftRaid Support, good to know, that was my expectation. That wasn't my experience though. I used my User log in and nothing but problems. What finally worked was backing all the way out of the app, reinstalling it and entering the user name to log in. Then going to the download for the beta, installing that. Now the beta is about to run out. When will the next version be out? Hopefully upgrading will be less painful. I'm on OS 15.6.1 on one machine, and OS 26 Tahoe on another internal volume and OS15.7 on an external disk.

What were your issues?
As of Ventura, the SoftRAID driver always loads a MacOS appropriate version of the driver. Users cannot change this.
So the beta app for Tahoe only is a user level app, the SoftRAID driver that loads is the 8.6 driver.
If you are running the beta in a Pre-13.3 MacOS release, then you have the driver install headaches.
If you remember any details of what your headaches were that may help. You no longer even need to restart to launch new SoftRAID versions, its so transparent now.
We will release 8.6 around the same time as apple releases Tahoe. Hopefully within a day or two, but we always want to test SoftRAID against the actual release version of MacOS.
I donot know where you saw the 6.2.1... Can you help? the link is a direct download link. Is there an old page referencing 6.2.1 beta? that would be a few years out of date, yes!
Tried it in Sequoia 15.7 from old previously operating, now expired 8.6.x Beta... Got the following screens:
As I previously said, had to enter the requested USER SN, followed by installing Helper, followed by upgrading steps. Finally working, but phew! Not as described.
