Just updated to 8.6 on macOS 26. My previous premium license, which renewed in July 2025, now shows that my premium trial license will expire in 30 days.

It seems we have been down this road before. I don't remember what the solution is.

There is a bug in 8.6, where the serial number does not survive a restart, or upgrade. A fix is coming immediately. In the meantime, SoftRAID 8.6 will work fine, but in trial mode (all features available). If you re-enter your license you will again be in Premium mode.

We are very sorry, we changed the way some text strings were saved and missed this bug.

If I read your reply correctly, re-entering my license code will bring me back into premium mode?
I have entered my license code several times and I get "SoftRAID Standard License activated for all users."

In the SoftRAID application window, at the bottom, it reads "Your SoftRAID Premium Trial License will expire in 30 days"

Thanks, that was my problem and it's solved SFAIK on Tahoe OS26 as well.

@henry-in-florida

8.6.1 is coming shortly. It fixes this, very low impact change.

@stempnakowski

If your license was Premium, that should not change. You can post a support file, after entering your license and I can check.

@stempnakowski

Can you reenter your license and save again? Or update to 8.6.1?

thanks!

So I updated to 8.6.1 and am seeing the same behavior. I am attaching two screenshots of the SoftRAID windows after I enter my license code. My license code starts with SR7XTas it was an upgrade. I'm not sure if that might be causing some problems, though it hasn't over the past several years since v8 has been released.

@stempnakowski

Can you try once more "change serial number" in SoftRAID and paste (or enter) your license once more?
let me know if it works this time.

Yes. That seems to have worked. SR now shows a premium license activated.

Issue 1: I have the same problems as described above and tried to also change the serial number. I'm on 8.6.1.

Issue 2: I can't login to the License Management portal it comes up with

I have this issue. I supposedly have 2 seats valid until 2028. After version 8.6 my license on both seats will not stay activated. I enter serial number in SoftRaid which then tells me the license is active and shows that the license is active in the "About Screen".  I check on my account page on the web and it shows the correct seat names and shows them as active.

After I logout of my Mac account or restart my Mac, Softraid shows I am in trial mode and the license is good for 30 days.

So I go to the SoftRaid website and deactivate the seats. Then I go through the serial number activation process again. Same result, license status reverts back to Trial mode.

This occurs for both computers (seats).

I installed the 8.6.1 update.  Same results. Cannot get the license to survive logoff or restarts.

Is there some other process to get around this?
