@softraid-support Agreed but I already reset the PRAM to no avail. At this point I just have to swallow the $800 I spent on the card and use the 4m2 enclosure instead because I'm getting little support from Amfeltec. Thanks anyway
Really sorry to hear this. They should support what they sell!
I just wanted to give an update on my situation. I ended up removing the Amfeltec and just using the 4m2 external drive instead for a while. After a couple macOS updates and I believe a Softraid update I decided to pop it back in and see if I could further diagnose the issue. To my surprise it has been 3 weeks with no disk ejection errors yet. Other than the updates I haven't done anything that could have impacted the drive so I can only assume one of the updates addressed the issue. Regardless, I'm happy to be able to the use the Amfeltec drive again problem free-so far. ;)
If anything changes I'll respond back.
12/2021 Update**
The disk ejection error has returned en mass and hasn't let up. It seemed to be worse after I upgraded to Big Sur and now Monterey. But I found a solution that has worked so far: simply going into the settings and preventing the machine from going to sleep.
@jdouglass
that is one of the workarounds. Very frustrating issue, this is a design flaw in thunderbolt and intel/Apple either don't notice or don't care. We have reported this of course.
One thing I have found, is if the problem starts after a macOS upgrade, sometimes resetting NVRAM (same as PRAM) seems to help. This is intel only of course.
