I'm having an issue with a RAID 5 partition in that it appears one of the drives was removed from the group and another shows as out-of-sync. Because of this the drive won't mount and since it won't mount I cannot add the drive back. What is the remedy for this?

Its a little worse than I thought. The volume is likely unmountable. I read your prior message that the volume was mounting read only.

It appears it cannot mount. the disk that is not connected, has the partition map for the volume, but the disk's partition is damaged just enough that the disk is not connecting to the volume.

this appears to have been caused by a kernel panic, but I am not familiar with the panic:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff8015fe6529): PowerOff timed out in phase 'Notifying power plane drivers'

@jesse-art

This is a new machine. I am curious what Apple support says is the cause of this.

If the MacOS support person tries to blame it on SoftRAID, point out to them that the SoftRAID driver is a "privileged driver" in /System/Library. This is not a SoftRAID driver issue.

But I am not familiar with this panic, unfortunately.
