I just wanted to confirm that it's possible to non-destructively convert a non-RAID disk to RAID 1 using SoftRAID Lite. I downloaded it for evaluation, but when I select the disk that I want to use to create a mirror, the only option available in the Volume menu is "New ..." "Convert" is greyed out. Is this option only available once I've purchased or is there another problem? Thanks!

You cannot convert the boot volume. I suspect that is the problem.

Also, if the volume is "core storage", you cannot convert that. There is a thread here on the forum that gives clear instructions how to convert a core storage volume to GPT format, so you can then convert it to SoftRAID.

Thanks! The disk doesn't contain the boot volume, so I assume it's the "core storage" issue. I'll look for the instructions.
