When I go to create a RAID 5 volume, although I have 8 unassigned SSD appearing is DISKS list on LHS of SoftRAID window, but only 4 can be selected for the volume. Add disk never seems to leave its greyed out appearance.
How do I get there from here?

Initialize each of the SSD disks. My guess is you already have a volume on some of the disks.
