Hi All,
Noticing an issue and have received guidance on what to try about the issue. Wondering if anyone else notices this one in SoftRAID app for MacOS 5.8.1?
Issue is slow to load the RAID Volume.
Fixes suggested by Mark in SoftRAID Support and tried without success:
• Rebuild Directory. Used DW (Disk Warrior 5.2) in Recovery Mode from a Startup flash drive. The local rebuild did NT Work, said it had overlapping files and proceeded to rewrite the entire drive, completing 50% and crashing. It rebuilt OK. However, no change on the mounting speed (25 sec).
Anybody have a similar situation in Catalina (either the original or update just release?
I suspect that there is some interference between apps in 5.8.1 or something else, because the beta of SoftRAID 6.0 seemed to be fine when it work (b33 and earlier). B34 does not mount onto the desktop at all. Reported this bug separately.
Macbook Pro 16" Retina XDR, 2024 M4 Pro internal 2TB storage, 36GB RAM, MacOS 15.6.1 Sequoia, running v8.0 SoftRAID software; Local RAID drives/enclosures: 4M2 OWC Enclosure with 6TB NMe, RAID4 Storage; two external OWC T3 enclosures (2.5TB online storage) populated with JBOD 6x500GB, EVO SSD, RAID 4 array disks/partitions; Local Backup: 2TB.

Lets investigate, by changing all the SMART testing parameters in SoftRAID disk preferences
