pop up says: One or more disks contain invalid data in the soft raid status partition.

The disk does not mount, but appears in the disks list with no errors.

 Need advice on what to do next- thanks

OS 10.13.6 SoftRAID 5.8.4

Is there data on this volume? The partition maps show a 3TB volume, but it is not mountable, because of the status partition.

@softraid-suppor These are edited projects on this drive. I have the original camera files backed up on a different drive. It would be great to recover this volume, as feeding the camera originals into the projects is a very time consuming process. Also I want to understand what has happened, how to prevent failure like this happening, and what steps to take to recover the data.

Before using soft raid I would have attempted to rebuild the drive with “disk warrior “, is that something I should try and do now?

thanks for taking a look at this.

I will ask engineering to fix this. Probably Monday or Tuesday.

I believe the problem has to do with the old Mac Pro. Super fast throughput may expose a minor issue in the memory or bus. I have seen a few instances on the accelsior, only on the old Mac Pro, and only Accelsior drives (or other cards with blades). Maybe it is faster than the mac Pro bus can handle reliably. I don't know.

Disk Warrior is the correct tool, but not for partition map problems. We will have to make a new partition map for the damaged drive.

@softraid-support

thanks for your reply, the drive is on the USB bus of a 2017 iMac. I look forward to your request going to engineering, and seeing what can be done - thanks.

I know, I have been pushing. We are incredibly busy with Big Sur, We had a window to do it on Friday, but there was an issue. Its possible today or tomorrow. Sorry. there is only one person with both skill/availability to do this and I have had a hard time getting the time.
