Hey, I actually might have an issue. Spotlight Search is not looking in my Softraid RAID. I can index it when I add it to the excluded targets and remove it again (Apple recommended solution), but it vanishes after a while. I cannot find files I know exist on the Softraid Volume.

Any ideas?

Thunderbolt 3 OWC enclosure with four Samsung 870 SSDs, RAID 5 with Softraid 7.6 (registered), Mac Studio with Sonoma RC2.

Not seen this issue before. I can try to check it out. If this is a Sonoma bug, it needs to be reported right away.

I just ran a search for a unique file name on a SoftRAID volume with Sonoma. Finder search (spotlight) saw all copies. This is on an APFS volume. Is your volume APFS or HFS, or ?

APFS four disk formatted as RAID 5...

I tried to do all the Apple stuff. I think I will delete my Spotlight Preferences and try again. Let you know :)

@sunstarfire

Please let us know. there should be no difference to spotlight whether a volume is a SoftRAID volume, or Disk Utility volume, or Apple RAID volume.
