When I open softraid 7.01 I get a blank display template with no disks shown. I can't attach a pdf screen shot though. If I log out and log back on the first time I open the app it loads. The second time it does not. Softraid monitor preferences. Something is apparently not consistently loading.

The app loads once after a restart. Here is the generated report.

@denverite

I need to run additional tests on this. If I can replicate this, we can fix it.

Can I send you a screenshot of the blank non-loading screen?

I was running 7.0 peacefully on my Mac Studio Ultra with Ventura (13.1), when I attempted to download the 7.0.1 update of SoftRAID.  It installed, the system rebooted, and when it came up, none of my arrays (all OWC) appeared.  I loaded the SoftRAID app and saw that they were all "unmounted".  I couldn't mount them.  I rebooted again and one of the arrays came up (I have 4 Thunderbay 4s), but showed a degraded disk.  The other three didn't show up at all.  Since the 4 arrays are redundant duplicates of a pair (2 main arrays, two backups of the mains), I decided to destroy a backup array just to see what would happen.  I tried to delete the array and it told me that even though it was unmounted, it had safeguard enabled.  I tried repeatedly to disable the safeguard.  It said it was doing it, but I would get the same error over and over.  Finally, I gave up.  Since I hadn't removed the installer for 7.0, I reverted to 7.0, which required two passes - first to reinstall the 7.0 app, and a second time to reinstall the 7.0 driver.  Once that was done, all the arrays reappeared on my desktop, all verify, and all show zero errors.  I think 7.0.1 probably has some issues that aren't yet resolved.  Unfortunately, I didn't attempt logging any of the efforts because they so took me by surprise that I wasn't thinking about logging.

Tried to update to 7.1 but it hangs on the Driver Update Screen

It says 60 seconds I'm now 10 minutes in :-(

I've got the same issue.  First time around after installing the driver, the app hung.  I quit and gave it a bit of time.  Now the driver has a blue dot in the menubar, so everything is ok.  I opened it again, but not a single drive shows up.

SofRAIDTool is running at 100%, with no drives showing up.  The single RAID that I have, is working fine.

@mrfearless47

I suspect the 7.0.1 driver did not get replaced in the extensions cache. If you are still having issues, attach a SoftRAID tech support file.

@mrfearless47

It loads one time, then you have to force quit Monitor again?

@steve223

If you restart, does the app load correctly? or do you need to disconnect the disks first?

@dabee

If you connect the drives after startup does the app launch correctly, then if you connect the drives after launching SoftRAID, do they show up correctly?

@denverite

Screenshots are not generally helpful. What is better is run SoftRAID without the drives and after it loads, connect the disks. Then save a support file. I may have mentioned this already, but threading on the forum is not very good.

@softraid-support sorted now, restarted opened again seems like the initial install did not trigger the pop-up for System Preferences to allow driver install. Needed a few more restarts after that but all working now, and I even can leave the drives connected. However I often need to restart Thunderbay as it wont be recognised after a restart

@softraid-support I didn’t force quit.  It closed “normally”.  I simply rebooted, which is when a single drive appeared, but degraded.  After reinstalling 7.0 (and carefully deleting everything associated with 7.0.1) everything runs perfectly normally.  I wasted several hours cleaning up after this mess.  I’m not inclined to try again.  I may be a masochist, but not with half a million photos.
