Hi,

I see that the Ventura 13.1 update is available. Just want to check and make sure SoftRaid 7.0.1 is compatible with the update before I go ahead with it? Any know issues? Will SoftRaid continue to work?

Thanks!

Yes it is safe and do upgdate. Ventura 13.1 fixes several kernel issues.

I checked the forum before I updated. I installed 13.1 and immediately started having kernel panics. I'm not saying this is a SoftRAID conflict, just that I am getting serious errors from the upgrade for some reason.

The only way I can keep the system up is to have everything unplugged and boot into safe mode. If I plug things back up (excluding the RAIDs, since they wouldn't have a driver loaded anyway), it'll stay up. If I reboot from that state (stuff plugged in) into normal mode, I get panics again. I've already reinstalled 13.1 from recovery mode and still get panics. I'm still working through it, and again, I'm not blaming this on SoftRAID, just that 13.1 isn't the panacea I'd hoped for (ie more kernel fixes, per this post).

I can't edit my previous comment because it's still awaiting moderation, but I can at least doubly confirm it's not a SoftRAID / OWC issue, it's some other dumb hardware connected to my computer. Slowly tracking down what the issue is. Mod, feel free to kill these posts if you want.

@carynorton

Its OK. YOu can post the kernel panic if you want. Paste it into text edit, make plain text, and attach it.
