Note: All "DART" kernel panics have now been fixed as of MacOS Ventura 13.5.
13.3 fixed the common DART panics from the introduction of the M1
13.5 fixed the DART kernel panics affecting the Mac Pro 2023 and M2 Studio.
There should be no remaining "DART" kernel panics on M1/M2 processors.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I need a user who has the kernel panic problem with M1, who can test it on macOS Ventura, beta 3.
Thanks, please post your result and a SoftRAID tech support file.
Editors note: We want to update the version of Ventura to test, to the 13.4 beta. If you are running 13.4 beta and the "dart" kernel panic is fixed, please post in the threads. We want user confirmations. Several users have commented that 13.4 fixes several remaining kernel panics, so please report what panic (at startup, or running an editing app like Davinci Resolve, etc.)
Happy to report that after installing the new Ventura Beta 3, my MacBook Air M1 is not panicking anymore when my Thunderbay 4 is hooked up and running during a reboot. Brilliant!
Still on 6.3 b14, btw.
@softraid-support Updating to the newer b20 brought the panic back, though, and worse, won't allow running my Thunderbay 4 at all anymore, as Ventura Beta 3 will freeze and panic after it's turned on. Aww :(
Did you "uninstall SoftRAID"?
Then reinstall the driver.
If you see a panic, "report to Apple", save the text into text edit, "Make Plain Text" in text edit, then you can attach it to the forum.
I get this when I try to run b20. It seems to have installed the driver, but won't run the application. The Error is " The installation of the SoftRAID driver failed. The application will now quit.
Does that qualify? Worked great before b20.
This is with Ventura b3?
Run this to confirm the driver did load:
sudo kextstat -b com.softraid.driver.SoftRAID

@jjs_az My recommendation is this:
uninstall SoftRAID - all components
restart
Run SoftRAID 6.3 b20
Install driver, (you may get a "driver insteallation failed" error, ignore it, as long as you get the option to do System Security/Privacy to "Allow" OWC. Click allow, restart.
You should be good at that point. Let us know.
How do I uninstall it without using the App? I haven't been able to get into it since the new version? All I get is that warning and then it quits?
The installation of the SoftRAID driver failed. The application will now quit.
Did you get the pop up to "Allow" OWC? That is what you need to get the driver working.
I never got the popup, but I just turned off Allow Full Disk Access, rebooted, turned it back on, reinstalled it, and it works now!!! Thanks!!!
I've just taken the leap of faith on the upgrade, and can't reproduce the panics. Was previously relying on the "wait 5 mins and plug in" method
