I have a newly installed OWC Express 4M2 with 4 x 4TB Crucial P3. Whilst I have been able to initialize and create a 16TB RAID 0 volume I am unable to mount. When mounting in Softraid it briefly flickers to mounting and then goes back to an unmount state
I have followed the instructions at https://www.softraid.com/docs/softraid-quick-start-guide/installation-macos/additional-steps-for-apple-silicon-macs/ for installation. However for the step that to enable OWC as a developer in Privacy and Security, OWC does not appear even after SoftRaid is installed. There is also no pop-up indicating System Extension Blocked during the installation OR when running Softraid. When going into system Privacy and Security OWC does not appear as an option to enabled. I have enabled Softraid for Full Disk Access..
I've also attempted to explicitly load extensions (sudo kmutil load -p /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext) but the command fails (output attached)
I am running Softraid 7.0.1 / Ventura 13.2.1 / Mac M1 Mini . I had the same issue on Monterey and thought upgrading to Ventura would resolve this issue (it did not). Please advise
I have an idea on this. Do a restart in recovery mode and "reinstall MacOS". there may be an issue in your system, based on the output of kmutil load.
this will not delete any system data, or even settings.
I was getting the same issue in Mac OS Monterey and thinking it was a compatibility issue between Softraid 7 and Monterey have already performed a MacOS installation and upgraded (in place) to Ventura. Will the reinstall MacOS be materially different from Mac OS Monterey -> Ventura upgrade that I have already performed? If so am happy to give it a try.
Its essentially the same process. Lets see what you get. When you are done upgrading, run SoftRAID 7.0.1 again.
Let me know
1. Do you get the "Allow" option? (assuming not)
2. Confirm that as per the SoftRAID steps page, you have enabled third party developers enabled.
3. Run the kmutil load command again. (tip: you can hit the up/down arrows to find prior commands in terminal, so you do not have to enter it again)
Copy the text and paste it here, a screen capture won't work, as we need to investigate that output, most likely
