I do not believe the TerraMaster Software interfered with "SoftRAID", it was a matter of it zeroing disks not inside its enclosure, more likely.
That is good to know and thank you for coming back with the suggestion. I'm just waiting on the insurance company to contact me about the claim etc.
I am trying to stay positive :) I'll report back when there is some movement with the insurance company.
Just thought I'd give an update on this for informations sake. I ended up sending the drives to a UK company as they had a good track record with recovery. They have now recovered all of the data and rebuilt the full RAID structure, file names and directories! It's costing ym insurance about £10,000 but at least I get my data back! I'm not going to go back to having a duplicate backup then single drives with none RAID backups. Been a stressful week to say the least.
Apparently the insurance company will be approaching TerraMasters to see if they can claim the amount off them. Although they said typically T&C's have the caveat of "you use out software at your own risk" embedded in the terms.
Glad to hear you have the data back. We may have been able to recover if you were in the USA, we have a modest flat rate for this, if the main issue is partition map structures, which yours may have been. We do not to "metal" recovery, but when the issue is in the partition maps, its straightforward for us to fix the volumes for users.
thanks!
Thanks for the reply. I think I'll continue with the insurance claim and the UK company just down to time now as I'm hoping to get it all back on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hi again. I've just replied to the support ticket for this. The recovery company over here is inflating the price as they now know they can recover all the data. My insurance company won't cover this as it's just not financially viable. What would the process be to send you the drives please?
That is so unethical. I will reply in the support ticket how to get the drives to us.

I'm glad you agree. They are using very hard sell tactics too dangling my data as the carrot. I've had a reply from Amanda W sating this wasn't possible? Please advise.
I am in a different department. What is your case number?
It's Case: xxxxxx
