Title says it all. How do I recombine a "split" RAID 1+0 that shows "degraded•2 missing disks" for each part?

Were these in a single enclosure?

What you do is rename one volume. (I am assuming both mount)

manually review the two volumes and either decide on one to keep or using SoftRAID application, keep the "older" volume based on creation date.

then, "disable Safeguard" on the volume you are deleting

"Delete" volume.

Select your volume, and "Add disk" and select the two disks. Let it rebuild. Change volume optimization to workstation (fast), or Server (fastest) for rebuild priority.

@softraid-support

Thank you.... They are in two enclosures. I think it happened because I changed the way the cables were connected. At first both OWC TB4 enclosures were directly connected to the mac mini TB ports. Then I changed it to daisy chain them... because I required the additional port for another device.

I had to copy and then erase the whole RAID and start from scratch, before I received your response.

Now I am facing another issue. I have moved my SoftRAID License to a new Mac mini I bought (which I have moved my OWC TB4 enclosures to). Deactivated it on the old machine. Now SoftRAID, when launched, won't show any drives unless I deactivate the license first, and then reactivate it. Then everything shows up and works as normal.

And it seems to crash when working with disks, saying an internal component is having an issue.

John

@johhnyjackhammer

This is not a hardware or RAID problem, it is an issue with the SoftRAID Monitor not able to communicate correctly with the application.

Are you using 7.6? If so, try 7.5 and let me know.

There are a couple workarounds, but let me know this first.

Thank you.

I am using 7.5. I uninstalled everything, restarted, and reinstalled and so far it seems to be working as it should.
