I used my Softraid external RAID seldomly. Mainly as a backup.
Can I not have the Softraid Monitor running all the time and only on-demand when I want to mount the Softraid device?
The SoftRAID Monitor also watches other disks for failure signals also. It does not take a lot of CPU. It is required, as the Monitor is what talks to the driver and does things like mounts your volumes.
Maybe what you really want is not to display the SoftRAID Icon in the menu bar, when no SoftRAID disks are present. That may be a possible feature request.
@softraid-support Thanks for the reply. No, I'd rather it just not load via LaunchAgent and LaunchDaemon at all, until I decide I want to use the SoftRaid volumes on the external drives.
Not sure if that is doable, but I will bring this up this as a feature request.
Thanks - I don't recall this monitor was installed/required in version 5.x when the app wasn't running.
