This is also a critical issue for me, and also why I spent 2k on new expected-to-be-Raid5 hardware for my M1 from OWC which still sits useless - should I return them or can we get more timely info please?  Realistic daily updates are NEEDED now!

OK, this just got kind of ugly... sorry, when you said Big Sur compatibility on the Beta, I thought it meant on M1 as well.  I guess my error.  Any update on time frame?

It is literally day by day. We cannot rush a driver, as your data is on it. We will announce it when ready, it is any day now, but solving an issue may take one more day, or several, you cannot predict in advance how hard an issue is.

Any day now. We are as anxious as you are. But we have to have 100% confidence and there is a "stop ship" issue, that we are working to resolve.

Don't thank us until we can get this out the door! Its maddening and we feel like we are letting the user community down by not having this available yet.

@softraid-support same problem, and the array won't mount at all.  Nothing I do will work.  Would have been nice to have a warning of some kind

We are updating the web site soon, if we don't have a change to M1 status by early next week.

@softraid-support Is there a way to offer limited support for mounting, reading and writing pre-existing volumes?  Is the driver loading at all?  You mention one show stopper to release - can you provide some detail on what that is?  Thx.

What kind of website update? A status update or announcement on M1 support?

We are working hard, it is our top focus and it is one day at a time. It is so hard to predict exactly when a "single" issue is all that is preventing release of a functional beta. We will make an announcement, all I can say it is one day at a time.  It could be Monday, it could take a little longer. But it is a critical issue we cannot ship with, so we need to resolve this one issue.

@kaijujoe66

I cannot release that info at this time, but when we fix it, it will resolve everything. It should be any day, it is frustrating, but it is taking much more time than anticipated.

@softraid-support Thanks.  I appreciate the update and that SoftRaid / OWC treats all our data as very valuable.

Many businesses take the last few weeks of the year off for well deserved rest and recuperation.  Is it fair to say that if an M1 compatible update does not come out this week, not to expect it until 2021?

No it is not fair to assume that. We are not shutting down for the holidays as far as development goes. Research is happening 7 days a week, until we can get SoftRAID 6 for Apple Silicon released. But as of today, we do not have the solution.
