Hi, for a few days now I've noticed (but I've only noticed it now because I have a recently purchased MacStudio) that I can't perform any Spotlight searches on the volume mounted with SoftRaid (Raid 1). I've tried following tutorials to "force" the search, but I get an unspecified "unknown error".
On version 5 of Softraid this didn't happen and the search worked fine.
Any advice?
I attach a screenshot...
I do not know what is wrong.
Its unlikely this is a SoftRAID issue. Perhaps the volume directory is damaged?
I found this old archived discussion:
https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/351129-spotlight-search-not-working-on-any-volume/
There was no solution posted, however. But shows this is a generic problem, not one specific to SoftRAID.
No, I don't agree with that.
With Catalina and Softraid version 5, the same hard drive was indexed without any problem (2 hard disk in RAID 1).
Now this does not happen with Softraid version 6.
You might answer me that it's Monterey's fault, but all hard drives are indexed without any problem, so I assume it's Softraid's fault.
Anyway the problem don't exist with other two hard disk (in no raid way) managed by Softraid.
I'll call Apple support, but if it doesn't resolve it goes without saying that it's a Softraid problem...
I solved it! I created a new administrator account so hard disk became with index. Reboot Mac and I gone in first administrator account and now woks. Thanks
