Today I got a SMART notification about one of my drives in a 4-bay RAID 5 volume (16 TB) about to fail. Following SoftRAID's recommendation of validating the volume before removing the bad disk, the process has appeared to hang after about 30 minutes and shows no time remaining info. The counter started around 13 hours, would occasionally jump to 200+ hours, come back down, etc.
At this stage the "current offset" counter has completely stopped and there is no countdown timer. Should I stop the process? I'm anxious to get this over with since I still have to wait hours to rebuild my volume with the new drive after the validation has finished. My preference is to leave my computer alone during these processes out of an abundance of caution and I have some time sensitive work to get done... any insight from anyone would be helpful on this, thanks in advance!

Attach a SoftRAID tech support file and I can take a look at what is going on.
If you restart, do you get a message about the volume being mounted read only by MacOS?

@softraid-support I restarted the certification, and only did 1 pass without any issues. I feel confident at this point, but thank you for offering to check out the tech file.
