Launch 6.0.5 and do not install the driver is what I am saying. OK?

I did that and I attempted to create a new mirror with drives A and B. When I clicked resize for the first drive Mac panic crashed. I had to remove the drives in order to stop it for repeat restarts.

I have attached the Mac crashed report and the SoftRAID tech report. Hope they help.

I'm not able to attach the text file of the crash report because the type is not allowed.

THe first problem is 6.2 does not resize, it is a bug. Did you run the older app version to try to resize?

I run 6.05 but at the bottom of the screen it indicates 6.05 as the app but 6.2 as the driver although I had selected "cancel" when it wanted to install the 6.05 driver. How do I stop the 6.2 driver from running?

that is exactly correct for this, as the 6.2 application has the bug, not the driver.

Some progress and no crashes.

I uninstalled 6.2, removed SoftRAID kext and did a full install of 6.05. The screen shows the two drives are mirrored (from before) and the volume is unmounted. DW was not able to do any repairs. GATE-1 has files I would like to mirror to GATE-2 and GATE-2 is empty. What is my next step?

Here is the new SoftRAID tech support file.

Disks indicate no errors but volume indicates unknown format. I don't mind if I have to initialize the disks and the files are gone.

You shoul dbe able to just erase the volume with SoftRAID.

(I am assuming you are using HFS as the file system)

Go back to 6.2 then.

Try again, unmount the volume first. Let me know. I can give another way if it fails again.

It worked after the fourth crash and started rebuilding for a couple of hours then it crashed again and it now crashes on every reboot. I unplugged the drives and it now stays on. I'm giving up till tomorrow morning.

Save the crash log (report to Apple, more details, the paste the text into text edit.

I would like to see what the crash is, and I can probably help you get this working.

SoftRAID is not mentioned in the backtrace, I notice Boot args: -no_compat_check

Try resetting NVRAM (like PRAM)

command option pr at startup, hold the keys down until it restarts again.
