Internal part of Softraid has stopped

I reset NVRAM but it did not help.

The system is steady if I start it without the two drives plugged in. I can start the SoftRAID application and no crash. The crash happens within a minute of plugging in the two drives while rebuilding is going on. Could it be the drives? They were new Seagate Portable and I used Disk Utility to format them to HFS+ GUID Partition. I copied about 600 GB of photos on drive 1 and had SoftRAID converted to non-RAID to keep the photos. I then plugged in drive 2 that I had SoftRAID initialize to mirror after you told me to use 6.05. If I want to start the process over and this time leave both drives empty how do I get Disk Utility to see them?

The other thing I noticed in the mac crash reports is that every time the crash involves CPU 3. Is this a coincidence?

I do not think it is coincidence. I saw mentions of your panic as memory related, but the Apple discussion forums are so degraded, there is little information of use there any longer.

Lets do this:
plug in one disk. "zero disk" with SoftRAID.

Plug in the other. Repeat.

I expect neither will panic the computer.

Let me know.

then you can initialize both.

Create a Mirror volume with SoftRAID.

Copy your data to it.

Lets do the simple way and see if it works.

Zeros were written to both disks with no errors. I then attempted to create a mirror volume and when it was creating the file system it panicked. I pasted the latest Apple report.

There are no SoftRAID formatted disks.

So can you go one more time, step by step, how you are getting this kernel panic.

If you go to System preferences/Security/Privacy/Full Disk Access, is the SoftRAID app there?

(drop it into full disk access if not)

I don't understand the disk formats, however, as I see you zero'd them and initialized them with SoftRAID, then I see this:

Maybe the disks were not connected? Or, does just connecting the disks cause the kernel panic, you attached?

The kernel panic was caused when both disks were attached so I had to remove them before I could generate the report.

It appears that full access, that wasn't there, fixed it. It hasn't crashed for 10 minutes.

I will add files to the SoftRAID and see what happens.

The volume is unmounted and unknown format is indicated. No errors but it will not mount.

Since the panic happens when the volume mounts, It may or may not have resolved this issue.

Send another support file. Either the volume is damaged, or the driver is not loading. I hope the latter.

Remember that I'm using 6.05 for both the application and driver. Should I update?

When I start the application it asks to install the driver.

When I restart the computer I get a message that a disk is not recognized and Disk Utility launches. I just cancel it.

The problem is the volume is now damaged, the header is wiped clean, so macOS wants to initialize/erase the volume.

Does this volume need recovery?

It looks new, so maybe it never had the file system created.

I think now that the driver is loading, delete the volume and create it again. It will work fine.
