use rm -r /(path) to remove. then reset the extensions cache by this:

sudo kmutil clear-staging
sudo kextcache -i /

im putting 

rm -r /acronis and get illegal option 

 

can you please put exactly what I need to type in for both acronis and hornDIS to delete? I dragged the acronis app to the trash and deleted trash 

 

I deleted Acronis by dropping application into trash and clearing trash then ran those sudo commands.  Still got a panic.

 

 

*&^*!!! Now it's panicking on my new volume that doesn't have Dock Ejector $#%@!!!!!! It had been running perfectly fine for 2 days.  Here is panic report from my new volume

 

 

So…..very interesting find.  The panic occurred in my new volume only after the previous panic occurred in the old volume.  When I ran the test after deleting Acronis I got the panic so I pulled my thunderbolt cable and let the MacBook reboot so I could get the panic log details, the Mac rebooted into the new volume, from there I plugged my thunderbolt cable back in (while in the new volume) and I got the panic again (the second panic log I sent).  I turned off the MacBook and held down the power key and booted into the new volume.  Plugged in the thunderbolt cable and my bays are running fine with no panic.  Hopefully that helps narrow things down?

Here are generic long instructions, I am sure you can follow these. Let me know if not. You get the path using System Report as below. Let me know if this is not clear what the commands are:

Open a System Profiler report (about this Mac).

Under the Software tab on the left, find and Click extensions
Now click on the "obtained from" column on the upper right.
Expand the upper window:
The middle bar pulls down, so you can view more extensions in the window and also have room below to see the information about each extension as you click on it. I would make it about half way.

When you click on any extension in this window, the lower half window has details. You want the location, i.e, path to the file

The "location" is the path to the extension. You can select this path and "copy" it.

the remove command in terminal is this:
sudo rm -r
Then you need to make sure there is a space after r, then paste in the path

For example, if you were deleting an extension like an HP Printer, its "location" is this:
/Library/Extensions/hp_io_enabler_compound.kext

So the terminal command will be this:
sudo rm -r /Library/Extensions/hp_io_enabler_compound.kext

When all are deleted, then do this in terminal:

sudo kmutil clear-staging

followed by:

sudo kextcache -i /

Note: Deleting an app does not delete kernel extensions. I posted some instructions further down.

when you save a panic log, can you save them as .txt files and attach them? It is neater. thanks!

Let me know how this goes after you delete the extensions and clear the extensions cache. (so they are no longer loading)

@softraid-support I’ve about had it with this damn computer and issue.  Did the commands you stated for the HoRNDIS and game controllers and acronis wasn’t in the extensions.  Acronis was in the disabled extensions section which was cleared after giving the command you suggested in terminal.  Went to my main volume I’d been having issues with and plugged in my bays.  I got the Mac OSX drives popping up for each of my drives again so I figured my security settings had been reverted.  Went into start up options and it showed my volume was encrypted so I entered my passcode to decrypt.  Went into FileVault settings and disabled file fault too.  Rebooted and went back to startup options and went to startup security and the freaking main disk is not there anymore, only the new disk that works.  I go to disk utility and the main volume shows up go back to startup security and it’s not there.    WTF?!?!?

@softraid-support had to delete my new volume I had spent a long time rebuilding because it was working in order to see my original volume in startup security.  Chose the appropriate options and reinstalled the driver, well guess what back to panicking again UGHGGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGGHGHGHGHHG I have $ 30k + just sitting here as a paper weight as work continues to pile up.

I am pretty sure your OSX Boot volume problem is an artifact from Acronis. You removed the driver?

Did you reset the extensions cache? (in terminal)

sudo kmutil clear-staging
sudo kextcache -i /

sudo kextcache -i /

Please try the current SoftRAID beta version:

http://www.softraid.com/sr_beta

My recommendation is Uninstall SoftRAID. restart and run SoftRAID and install the driver. before restarting, go to System Preferences/Security to "Allow" OWC as an identified developer. this ensures that macOS actually loads the new driver version.

We believe this beta will fix the kernel panic problem. Please let me know.

THe startup disk pane only shows volumes that macOS thinks are bootable. Probably there is some weird issue there. Can you 'Option boot' to this volume?
