These SoftRAID suggestions involve other departments. I am investigating/making recommendations, but it may take a few days.
Are you referring to the clearance items, or the issue I had with not being notified that the $79.99 upgrade price was a limited-time deal (I can't find anywhere that I was ever notified of that)? If I could get a $79.99 upgrade now, or if one of those clearance enclosures came with SoftRAID, I'd likely go for one or the other.
@softraid-support 2978008230 & 3088000002 for the Used-Like New TB8s I recently received that I expected would have SoftRAID 8 Pro with 3yrs support based on the OWC product page for Used TB8s linked above.
PLease attach your invoice (I won't post it)
We have escalated this ,but won't have answers until end of the week likely
It will take some time, I am pushing for a formal policy, so everyone like you can get consistent results. Its unlikely to happen before tomorrow.
Use SoftRAID in trial mode in the meantime, its 100% functional
This enclosure was specifically not sold with SoftRAID, its about a $130 extra cost for it to be included.
Marketing say they clearly mark ones that do and do not ship with SOftRAID.
We will take a look at the wording, I see in your invloice it shows "raid-ready". not SoftRAID.
One reason we offer non SoftRAID enclsoures is if you are picking up your second Thunderbay, you should not have to buy another license for each one.
I might be able to add a SoftRAID upcharge to your order to include SoftRAID if you want, I have to check, but I think I could arrange it.
@softraid-support It looks like you posted my SNs and Invoice on the forum. Not sure why...
My careful reading of the product page (which is still live) that I purchased from includes the following statements on SoftRAID. Notice they aren't conditional or indicate that there is an add-on expense. Rather it states very clearly it comes with it (i.e., "Bundled with SoftRAID", "OWC Enclosures include 3 yrs SoftRAID"). There is literally nothing else on the page that indicates that it's optional, etc. Seeing 'raid-ready' on the invoice afterwards is hardly clear or contradictory to the product listing page.
@softraid-support Never saw any updates on those enclosures, and now the TB3 enclosures aren't listed in Clearance. I'd be surprised if they all sold at those prices, but I guess anything is possible.
Moving on to the other option, then - any chance I can still get a license at $79.99, since I never received anything stating that there was a 90-day window to upgrade at that price? The only limited time offer I saw was the 50% off deal, but because it only knocked $5 off of what appeared to be my "normal" upgrade price, I didn't go for it, assuming that the $79.99 upgrade would still be available to me at a later date.
You said to post my license numbers and you'd delete this rather than posting. My softraid has no license right now, just expired but I had purchased extra, I was under impression from that and from buying all my gear I'd still have a working license?
I have Softraid V8 installed.
hopefully this helps
All your enclosures seem to be 3-5 years old. thanks for being a steady customer.
Your Last (pro) license just expired, and you can renew for $80. It will cover all devices connected to this computer. (Looks like you have 4+ enclosures) the discount for renewing ends soon, I am not sure when on your license, you may have as long as 45 days to renew, however.
also, if you pick up a new enclosure you get 3 years with all your devices on this computer.
