@softraid-support I paid for a Softraid Pro upgrade May 17, 2023 (order 349102).. that doesn't cover getting in on the new software? I had previously upgrades from 5 to 6 xt as well. My blade drive just started throwing I/O errors and I rarely use it, so I was trying to fix it but then the software tells me no etc. due to license.
@softraid-support I just paid for another year. Not crazy about having to pay 80 bucks a year to be able to format a drive if needed, given how much everything cost to begin with.
Try upgrading now. Let me know if it fixes your issue with upgrading.
@softraid-support Thanks - that appeared to work, but I actually found a Thunderbay Mini 4 TB3 w/SoftRAID on the Specials page, and grabbed it (it was the only one). I just set it up, and while I definitely bought a unit that said it had SoftRAID, I can't find a serial number anywhere on the unit or the box. Also, while it's a TB3 enclosure, it came with a TB2 cable, and no screws for the mounting trays. Off to support chat I go...
That is weird. I will report this, I know it is probably used/returned/refurbished, but all product that leaves is subjected to testing. thanks!
@softraid-support It was listed as “New, Open Box”, so hopefully everything will get straightened out. I sent a photo of the bottom of the unit to prove there was no serial number, and a photo of the cable.
I got a serial number today, so that's all set. Still waiting on an answer for the cable and drive sled screws.
Is there any way to add the serial number I got to my account?
@rnb2 It appears to be in your account, but as a standard license. We are converting it to Premium.
Yeah, that was the Standard version I downloaded last week in anticipation of the serial number arriving, so the serial number doesn't match what I was sent today. How would I get the serial I was sent today into my account?
If you deactivate/activate your license is it Premium?
@softraid-support OK, the license in my account now activates as Premium (it still shows as Standard in my account, though). Doesn't this mean that I now have two Premium licenses, though?
What is the difference between deactivating and changing the serial number? I assume that deactivating frees up whichever serial number is currently being used, but I think I still would have two Premium serial numbers - the one that was provided via email, and the one associated with my Standard download last week that has been converted to Premium.
