Hopefully this week.
The above was posted on 11/12. Seems it was not this week, it was also not the next week, and it will most likely not be the week after next week. Seriously when will we have an update which works? I feel that is not a P2 or P3 issue, I feel it is more of a P1 issue to fix asap.
All I can add is we are working on it. Its not a trivial fix, or it would be done.
Any news on 7.0.2?
It is being worked on. Maybe there will be a beta soon, but if not today, maybe not until after the first, depending on work schedules.
OK, no rush. Just interested. I keep getting 7.0.1 notifications.
A better method is install 7.0.1. Then when you need to run SoftRAID, launch the 7.0 version, but do not install the driver. SoftRAID application only needs to be run rarely.
I'm running 7.0 globally. Is there a need to get to 7.0.1 partially?
I have to say, of all the things I need to address, this should be a reliable thing on 7.0. The severe importance of my RAID management can have me hold on 7.0 until 7.0.2 comes along.
This is not a version issue. This is a safety management issue. You really need to understand the users that are reliant upon RAIDs that use your software to do this. Requesting users juggle different versions to 'win temporarily', is disturbing. I would sit with version 5 for 8 years, if the reputation got out that updated versions were sloppy. The business of SoftRAID is stability and reliability, not hacking recent versions...to accomplish what.
I did say that your published downloads don't include any history. Second, that it remained a questionable 'current' 7.0.1. I don't think that is a good strategy, including repetitive suggestions to download 7.0.1. That is inviting serious problems for people that rely on such a strategy for data reliability. 'Suggestions' really suggest a lacklustre respect for client applications and their severity.
My idea was to revert to 7.0.0 and stay quiet until 7.0.2 is solid. 7.0.3 if need.
As a business guy and a tech guy for over 40 years (sigh), you should really have some business people dictating how these scenarios should play out. Situations like this are absolutely decisive for businesses like me. I'm reliant on my RAIDs. Asking multiple version management to be installed, is purely demonstrating how you think this is some kind of field management testing, based on my company's time and integrity. Don't do this.
Don't push this onto your users for version testing and management. It's unprofessional, and kills your market. You are a Mac go-to for solutions. That can change quickly when you expect your customers to field-test your software and installers. Again, business people internally, would have told you so.
I understand your frustration.
Note: There is no driver difference between 7.0 and 7.0.1. However, 7.0.1 fixes a licensing issue that affects many users also.
We will get 7.0.2 out as soon as we can. As I mentioned, leave the 7.0.1 driver installed. There is no need to even run the SoftRAID application unless you actually have a problem, which SoftRAID Monitor will alert you to. Everything works in the background.
Can you test this SoftRAID beta?
http://www.softraid.com/sr_beta
Run this, update the driver, launch SoftRAID, then grab the file here:
/Library/Application\ Support/SoftRAID/Debug.log
Let me know.

@softraid-support The link downloaded 7.01b4, is that the version you wanted me to test? This version definitely didn't resolve the issue. I wasn't able to grab the debug log as it didn't produce any debug log file at the specified location.
Window with hard disks was on initial load there as expected, but then quitting the window and launching softraid does lead to an empty window as enclosed.
I could generate a tech support file which is enclosed, not sure if that helps.
Yes, I can do this late morning. Please remind me of the format I need to save the log file in to be able to post it here.
Previous post still being moderated. Installed beta. No debug.log file found! Am reverting back to old setup.
