I'm aware of the failing HDD but am not so concerned with it as yet. Planning on buying new HDDs very soon.
Thanks, it disproves a theory I had considered.
Let me get back to you.
Thanks!
My theory was a bug when a disk was predicted to fail, which you disproved easily enough.
I created an external bootable HDD and started up off of it. Then went manually thru the system for my internal drive and removed what I could find related to SoftRAID and OWC restarted off of my internal drive then ran 6.0.1 final with the same results and error message.
And SoftRAID on your external drive was fine?
That would tell me this is someting in the System. I suspect a clean install would fix this, but that is sub optimal
BTW: the best is clcik on your internal boot disk and "uninstall SoftRAID driver" . this does not delete all the plists, but all the driver components.
then you can "install SoftRAID driver" onto this volume and see if it works.
Yes. Worked fine on the external drive. See that there is a new version of SR 6.0.3 so I'm dl'ing it and giving it a go.
Try from the external:
Click on the internal volume and "uinstall SoftRAID driver" and then "install SoftRAID driver.
boot from it and try again.
Tried that same results although shows that I have driver 6.0.3 installed when running b53. Weird! Also had installed latest version of beta 8 of 11.3. When final of 11.3 is out for a couple of days I'll consider a clean install although I'm only having issues with SoftRAID 6.
Feedback on 11.3 has been good.
Post SoftRAID tech support files, as that is the best way for me to investigate. I can see everything you can see.
the SoftRAID Monitor is unable to talk to the Application is what is causing the error.
I see three instances in the log.
this is a bug on our list, but I need to you get you working in the meantime.
Does this happen 100% of the time now? if you relaunch SoftRAID does it work?
Every single time with either 6.0.1 final or 6.0.3 final. b53 works every time though and sees driver 6.0.3 as a valid driver.
Thanks, I can post when we have a beta to potentially fix this. I do not know the cause yet, but have collected 5 support files (including yours), which hopefully will point to the culprit, so we can fix it.
@softraid-support Thanks. I'll be standing by then. If you need anymore support files I'm happy to post 'em.
