Error resizing volume

I have a RAID 5 array. It was filled with six 6TB drives for a grand total of 30TB. I recently upgraded all the drives (one at a time, rebuilding as I went) to six 8TB drives hoping for a grand total of 40TB. However, when I go to resize the volume in SoftRAID, I get the error "Error resizing volume." It says the maximum I can expand it to is 30TB. Am I missing a step? All drives show up with no errors and show 2TB available. SoftRAID v6.2 OSX 11.6.1
