Thanks for the feedback. We do not get info on what is fixed in each release. If users at least have a workaround until there is a 100% fix, that would be most excellent.
I restarted the machine this evening and waited over an hour before plugging the disks in. The machine crashed again.
Here's the crash log and the report for tech support. Sysdiagnose log to be sent shortly.
I got the Sys diagnose, thanks.
the panic has this to start:
Attempting to forcibly halt cpu 0
cpu 0 failed to halt with error -5: halt not supported for this configuration
Debugger synchronization timed out; waited 240000 nanoseconds
panic(cpu 1 caller 0xfffffe001ad14c38): "apciec[pcic2-bridge]::handleInterrupt: Read Response Error linksts=0x99000001 pcielint=0x00200000 linkcdmsts=0x00000800 (ltssm 0x11=L0)\n" @AppleT8103PCIeCPort.cpp:1301
Which is a slightly different panic. Can you try this beta and post the panic log? I am interested in what you get:

thanks
got it, thanks. We can use this in our Apple meeting, hopefully.
I'm still getting the kernel panics under 13.0.1 with Softraid 7.0
Sysdiagnose:
Please try this with MacOS 13.1 beta 3. (current MacOS beta).
We are very interested to know if this happens with this version of MacOS.
Did you get a chance to test with MacOS 13.1 beta?
Unfortunately yes, I installed 13.1 Beta 3 today and still get the kernel panics. Except now they take longer to go from frozen to pink screen and my fans spin up. Also, it destroyed a Capture One library that was open at the time. So all in all, it's worse.
Sysdiagnose:
Bummer. Do you have any more details on when this situation may be resolved?
Did you happen to save the panic log? that would be great.
I don’t remember one popping up on restart, though Feedback Tracker from the beta popped up. I’ll dig into Console when I’m back and see if it’s there.
Thanks, it is likely already in the System Diagnose file, so don't worry.
I was just trying to confirm it is the DART issue.
We are providing your email address to Apple engineering. They will hopefully contact you this week, to help you set up your machine to generate a "core dump", that saves the states of the computer when it crashes.
Thanks, happy to help any way I can. Really keen to get this solved as my professional photography/videography workflow depends on this device functioning reliably!
@softraid-support I installed 7.0.1b4 this afternoon, waited about 30 minutes after rebooting then plugged in the drive. It's completed two backups since, so I'm cautiously optimistic.
