@softraid-support Preliminary tests are good -- no crashing or freezing this time! Progress!

I am seeing this come up again, ejecting with the tool or manually:

Jan 21 14:31:54 - SoftRAID Driver: A disk (disk7, SoftRAID ID: 092430965D76E280) for the SoftRAID volume "Thunderbay" (disk8) was removed or stopped responding while the volume was mounted and in use.
Jan 21 14:31:54 - SoftRAID Driver: A disk (disk5, SoftRAID ID: 0924309B7A69EB00) for the SoftRAID volume "Thunderbay" (disk8) was removed or stopped responding while the volume was mounted and in use.
Jan 21 14:31:54 - SoftRAID Driver: SoftRAID determined that there is a problem with your Mac. Turn off sleep in the Energy Saver pane of System Preferences to prevent this problem from occurring.
Jan 21 14:31:54 - SoftRAID Driver: A disk (disk4, SoftRAID ID: 0924309659B53A80) for the SoftRAID volume "Thunderbay" (disk8) was removed or stopped responding while the volume was mounted and in use.

@mcvosi

Set the system (display) not to sleep and uncheck put drives to sleep. See if that helps.

@mcvosi

That error primarily comes up when you are ejecting the volume? normally we see it randomly, as it is a communication issue between the enclosure and computer.

@softraid-support It actually happens when disconnecting the cable, after ejecting.

@mcvosi

Have you had a chance to test with 6.2.1 b8?

There is a chance it is fixing this issue, based on more Apple engineering feedback.

@softraid-support Yes, I believe the freezing and crashing is resolved. Still getting the annoying volume disconnect notifications, but that's a minor annoyance.

@mcvosi

That would be great. Please let me know if you see any of those crashes again.

The volume locking may not be resolvable easily, as it is a hardware issue. We found a possible scenario where we may be able to prevent some of these cases, but it is a lot of work and may quite take a while to implement our ideas.

@softraid-support Understood. At least the biggest issue is resolved, but I would guess the notifications should be fixed as well as you will have other users confused by this message.
