hello, please tell me 1. is 11.6 supported or not? I have 11.4 now, everything seems to be working, should I upgrade? 2. What disk format is recommended to use for soft raid I have an Express 4 M2 SSD with 4 NVMe M slots.2. Thank you

@antonyrock

Yes 11.6 is supported.

If you need maximum large file performance, HFS. For smaller file, robustness, APFS. (6.1 is nearly ready, so that upgrade is coming soon.)

@antonyrock

Wait until SoftRAID 1, where we enable APFS support! Coming soon.

@antonyrock

I think the SoftRAID driver is not loading. Did you try to paste this into the terminal?

sudo kmutil load -p /Library/Extensions/SoftRAID.kext

Note:
The "up" key in terminal will show prior commands, so next time you need to manually load SoftRAID, just hit the up arrow in the terminal window, and this command will be available without having to type it.

We have a workaround for this bug coming, (we are essentially running this command automatically at System Startup to force the driver to load.)

On the M1 every system, or after a reinstall of macOS you need these steps:

https://support.apple.com/en-lk/guide/mac-help/mchl768f7291/mac

Select reduced security and enable this:
Select the “Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers” checkbox to allow installation of software that uses legacy kernel extensions.

Then you will need to do a driver update (reinstall) where you go to System Preferences / Security to "Allow" OWC as an identified developer.

Let me know if you get stuck at any point. But the error above indicates you have not let macOS load third party developer kernel extensions (softRAID)

@antonyrock

Now "reinstall SoftRAID" (using 6.1) in utilities menu.

Do not restart until you see the System Preferences dialog box pop up, go there and "Allow" OWC as an identified developer. then you can restart.

let me know.

@antonyrock

Please attach a new SoftRAID tech support file. I am not sure why you are seeing the startup disk as "unmounted" and no OS, unless it is an artifact of being encrypted, we are not yet supporting encrypted volumes.

But the SoftRAID volume should work fine.

@antonyrock

The SoftRAID 6.1 driver is loaded. but the volume does not have a "mount point" (see the - in the disk identifier)

Is there an error if you "erase" the volume?
