Based on the news today of a new macOS Security issue, the update may come sooner than later.

Confirmed not working on current 11.3 dev beta (20E5172i). We'll see what happens with the next release.

@softraid-support Yeah, the sudo-bug.... That is a fun one, and since it also works on Macs, there might even be a very quick interim release of 11.2 with a fix (and a fast 11.3 Beta 2, true). Fingers crossed.

You are unfortunately correct. The fix is not in this beta, but we have had it suggested it will be in the next beta. Hopefully very soon.

OK Ladies and Gentleman,
I am stuck, feel like im banging my head on a brick wall here.
MacMini M1 2020 Big Sur 11.1
Brand new computer
I have held the power button down and allowed for third party extensions from the security boot options.
The only software i have installed is softraid latest version (6.0.1 b48)
I have a thunderbay 4 mini using thunderbolt with a thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adapter (apple MMEL2AM/A)
After installing the software i am prompted that an extension was blocked. i am also prompted to allow the extension. After allowing the extension i restart my mac mini and my drive mounts as expected. However if i try to connect to the drive as a file share user my mini immediately panics.
if i just let the computer sit, at some point it will reboot, this continues until i get a warning from MacOS (a third party kernel extension was bla bla bla…) I cannot get the tird party extesnsion warning to alert again without uninstalling the software.
Also, after reading through this thread, i tried deleting the arcMSR.kext, and i failed repeatedly. i tried rm, i tried rmdir, i tried sudo, i enabled root user and tried it all again…
Ive enclosed logs from before the machine crashed and afer the machine crashed. Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to see the panic log. Attach it as a .txt file. (when it crashes, click "More info" or "report to Apple" and save the information to textedit.
the presense of the areca driver should not cause a problem, it is not loading.
What are you exactly doing, so we can test?
Enabled File Sharing? the volume, or a folder? As what kind of user?
then logging into the Mini remotely, triggers the panic?

this is a drive that was configured using softraid 4 on a 2012 mac mini intel.
the drive is a raid 5, previously being shared as afp and smb
i am trying to recreate the same on the new machine.
i have created an administrator user and a sharing only user, in system prefs, under sharing, i have the entire raid drive volume selected as shared with share user with r/w privileges (i think that is all ?)
logging in remotely triggers the panic faster. i will open my computer and open terminal and ping the new server, then i will open finder, and go to shared, click the server, click connect as, use the saved credentials and hit connect and i will see the ping start getting a timeout, then 30 seconds later the new server is back online. however, after the third shutdown the "panic medic boot" window informs me all third party extensions are disabled.
If i dont attempt to fileshare remotely the new server will still panic, an undetemined time for the first panic, but under two mintes for the next two panics, until third party extensions are disabled, then the machine runs as expected.
I cannot attach the file, says type not allowed, says the same thing for a screen shot as well

That is what is crashing. Curious if this is code you wrote, or a third party code snippet?

I am not running DART, I honestly don't even know what that is. And this machine is a brand new install with no software except softraid installed.

Let me ask around on this then. I have not seen DART in a panic log before, and in quick researching the web, it appeared to be a programming tool.

MacOS 11.3 beta is out now. Does that fix the SoftRAID driver incompatibility?

@softraid-support The 11.3 public beta has been released. Any ideas whether the fix is in that, or is that the same build number as Beta 1? Sorry for asking such trivial questions.

@softraid-support Also, just a proposal. If the Public Beta also does not work with SoftRAID, you should probably edit the Critical announcement to include 11.3 in the OSs it's not working with for now.
